Booking Terms & Conditions Information for Head First Ltd (2019)

Head First Ltd aims to deliver high-quality training courses designed by Mental Health First Aid England, to increase the skills and knowledge of adults delivering Mental health First Aid to young people aged 8-18. We value the feedback given to us by our delegates and are consistently striving to ensure our courses are deemed to be enjoyable, useful and thought-provoking.

We draw our delegates’ attention to the following Terms & Conditions for the accessing of courses run by our company:

  1. Accuracy of course information provided by Head First Ltd

We share information about the courses we offer, via our website and other publicity material. The content of courses is being continually reviewed and subject to change without notice. Delegates must ensure that our courses meet their requirements before submitting booking forms

  1. Booking procedures for courses run by Head First Ltd

Head First Ltd requires delegates to book on our courses via our web site. We will then confirm bookings using the email address submitted on the booking form completed. Pre-course information, including, but not limited to, the venue address, course timings, catering arrangements, will be provided by email a week before the start of the course.  Course fees are required to be paid at the latest, 2 weeks before the start of the course. We regret that we cannot hold places for delegates after this payment deadline has expired.

  1. Prices of courses run by Head First Ltd

We aim to ensure our course costs are clearly explained on our web site and in other promotional materials. We reserve the right to change these costs and delegates should check the costs on the course confirmation email sent out in the week before the course start date. Our advertised costs are for delegates accessing training in the Kent area. There will be further increases for courses run out of Kent to cover the cost of our trainer’s travel, accommodation and other expenses occurred when running courses outside of our immediate area. Delegates should ensure they have asked for a quote before booking courses outside of Kent.

  1. Cancellation and Transfers

Whilst every effort will be made by Head First Ltd to run published courses, it is sometimes necessary to cancel or rearrange courses due to matters beyond our control. Should this course of action be necessary, we will arrange an alternative date and/or venue as close to the original booking as possible. Head First Ltd does not accept any liability for any loss incurred by having to rearrange courses for reasons beyond our control, but we will give as much notice as possible to our delegates.

In the event that we cancel a course, delegates will receive a full refund of course fees paid and be given a priority booking space on the next convenient course.

Delegates may cancel a course booking by notifying Head First Ltd by email as soon as possible. This must be acknowledged by Head First Ltd, who will also deem a delegate’s non-attendance as a wish to cancel their place, and their place may then be reissued to another delegate.

Delegates who cancel their places, or fail to attend, will be invoiced for a cancellation fee according to the following timescales:

  1. Course numbers

Head First Ltd is required to adhere to rules set by Mental Health First Aid England, regarding the number of course delegates on their courses. For 2 day Youth Mental Health First Aid courses, we must have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 16 delegates. We regret that courses cannot run outside of these parameters and if fewer than 8 delegates arrive, we cannot run MHFA England accredited courses

  1. Payment for Head First Ltd courses

Delegates are required to pay the full course fee 2 weeks before the start of the course. Electronic payment is preferred, and full details can be found on our booking form and in the confirmation email sent to every delegate.

  1. Delegate code of conduct on Head First Ltd courses

Head First Ltd recognises that mental health can be an emotive subject and every delegate arrives at a course with their own history and experiences which provide their frame of reference during the course. All delegates are asked to respect each other’s views and experiences with sensitivity and confidentiality. Any delegate who displays abusive or insensitive behaviour during the course, or who fails to abide by the venue or company rules, as outlined at the start of the course,  will be asked to leave. Head First Ltd will not be liable for any losses or expenses incurred by a delegate displaying such behaviour and who is asked to leave a course.

  1. Complaints and feedback

Head First Ltd aims to deliver high-quality training courses designed by Mental Health First Aid England, to increase the skills and knowledge of adults working with and looking after, young people aged 8-18, to deliver Mental Health First Aid. We value the feedback given to us by our delegates and are consistently striving to ensure our courses are deemed to be enjoyable, useful and thought-provoking.

If a delegate has any complaints regarding a course, they should in the first instance, speak to the course trainer, who will do everything they can to resolve the issue. If this does not solve the issue, delegates are asked to put their complaint in writing to Head First Ltd, who will liaise with the delegate to resolve the issue.

Head First Ltd also likes to know what we are doing well and delegates are warmly encouraged to submit positive and constructive end of course feedback, so that we can evaluate our course delivery and strive to make our courses the very best they can be for our delegates.
