Laleham Gap School Youth Mental Health First Aid Course 25th & 26th November 2019
Congratulations to the 16 staff from Laleham Gap School, Ramsgate who have just completed their “in house” Youth Mental Health Aware 1/2 day course, over two afternoon CPD sessions. Head First Ltd has already trained several members of staff on the 2 day course and our latest course adds further capacity to Laleham Gap School.

TKAT 2 day Youth Mental Health First Aid Course 25th & 26th November 2019
Congratulations to the second cohort of Youth Mental Health First Aiders, trained by Dave Miller, Head First Ltd Director & Rainham School for Girls’ Deputy Head, Nikki Bell, at Rainham School for Girls on 25th & 26th November. Delegates came from primary and secondary schools belonging to The Kemnal Academies Trust, and further adds capacity to the staff Dave & Nikki trained earlier in the year. The Academies Trust aims to eventually train all staff in Youth Mental Health First Aid Skills.

Head First Ltd Trainer & Director, Dave Miller, has just co-delivered a 2 day Youth Mental Health First Aid Course to members of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) at Heybridge Primary School on 25th & 26th September.
Delegates included:
– a Deputy Headteacher
– Learning Support Assistant
Non-teaching mentor
Designated Safeguarding Leads.
A second course for TKAT schools will be delivered by Dave and TKAT Deputy Headteacher, Nikki Bell, in November at Rainham School for Girls.

East Malling Youth Mental Health First Aid Course
16 & 17 September
Congratulations to the latest group trained by Head First Ltd on a 2 day Youth Mental Health First Aid Course in East Malling on September 16th & 17th.
Newly qualified as Youth Mental Health First Aiders are:
2 Heads of Houses in a Senior Independent School
an Assistant Mental Health Youth Worker from the YMCA
a School Nurse
a Post-16 Student Support Coordinator from a Girls’ Grammar School.
We are delighted that this additional capacity to support young people is now coming to more schools in Kent!
A great group to facilitate and clearly dedicated to the many young people for which they have responsibility.


East Malling Youth Mental Health First Aid Course, 15 & 16 July 2019
Our last course before the Summer has just been completed with 4 delegates from the diverse worlds of education and specialist hockey goalkeeper coaching! Such nice people – I am so proud that all are so committed to improving the mental health of the young people in their care!

We can see the group working on their young person “case studies”, showing their finished products and with their certificates confirming their qualification as Youth Mental Health First Aiders!


Youth Task Force, Isle of Wight
20-21 June 2019
Head First Director and Trainer, Dave Miller paid his second visit this year to the Youth Trust based on the Isle of Wight, as a co-trainer on 20th & 21st June 2019. The members of the Youth Task Force, a group of young adults, influencing the work of the Youth Trust, and leading the promotion of mental health for young people on the Island through their own Mental Health Charter, were trained as Youth Mental Health First Aiders.
We were also pleased to welcome our first “Doggy Delegate”, supporting one of the visually impaired young adults on the course. What a well-behaved young man he was!
