Head First Ltd is happy to arrange bespoke sessions like this in schools, according to the individual requirements of the setting. Please get in touch with us to discuss further!

Palm Bay Primary School, right on the sea front in Margate, commissioned a day’s Mental Health Awareness CPD with Head First Ltd on Wednesday 5th February.

Despite being a normal working day, Senior Leaders at Palm Bay managed to rearrange responsibilities during the day to allow teaching staff to attend the first hour and a half session, followed by LSA staff and admin staff for the second session, both of which considered the meaning of mental health; the “ingredients” of a mentally healthy child and risk/protective factors for mental health.

Senior staff then had an extended two hour session to consider not only children and their mental health but also staff mental health, adult stress and how schools can encourage positive wellbeing and mental health in their school communities.

Over 60 parents/carers attended an hour’s session at the end of the day, engaging brilliantly in the interactive session with Dave, to consider what mental health means, what a mentally health child looks like and how parents can shape positive mental health in their children. This ended a fabulous day of work with a primary school fully committed to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing for its staff and students.
“Thank you for sharing this with us. It has opened up my thinking and awareness of the mental health needs of our students!”

“I found this so useful, particularly the positive attitude given from the talk that having mental health is OK and how to recognise it in ourselves, colleagues and children/pupils. I also valued the statistics around mental health and the enthusiasm and passion driven behind your presentation”

Congratulations to the whole school community
